- Copies of your IC, birth cert, transcript, offer letter, ssln, e-vetting, medical checkup, etc.
(SSLN & E-VETTING ni sekadar cukup syarat, google sendiri HAHA)

Memang paling cepat
In less than 2 hours dah siap

STEP TWO:
Submit all documents.

STEP THREE:
Within 2 weeks, MARA akan beli agreement via email.
Inilah cabaran yang paling mencabar. HAHA
Kerana perjanjian harus dibuat dalam 5 salinan.
- Beberapa dokumen perlu disahkan Penghulu/Adun/JKKK (Sila ambil tahu)
- Perlukan DUA penjamin
- Perlukan saksi
- Setem hasil untuk perjanjian
(terus ke LHDN, saya ke LHDN Damansara Perdana. Cepat)
(MARA TIDAK TERIMA SETEM HASIL YANG DIMATIKAN PESURUHJAYA SUMPAH)

PASCASISWAZAH MARA 2014 PART 1

Saya kongsi pengalaman saya untuk Skim Pascasiswazah MARA 2014 :)

1) MOHON UNIVERSITI

Ya, walaupun MARA masih belum buka permohonan, mohon universiti dulu. saya apply semuanya sendiri, tak pakai agent. Agent percuma, tapi nanti lebih sudu daripada kuah. Next, aim for top100 universities. Send your application to a few institutions, probably 5 universities..? so you always have backup plans :) 

Cara-caranya, lengkapkan dokumen ini sebelum memohon. Yes, LENGKAPKAN. (Jangan tercicir walau satu pun, so you can submit application dgn tenang. If not kalau tak lengkap, kena save & complete later--jangan bawa budaya suka tangguh.) So ini CHECKLIST nya:

a) Academic transcript

b) CV

c) Personal Statement

d) Recomendation letter 

- lecturer 1

- lecturer 2

- employer 1 (back up)

(Cari referee who knows you in person and yang rajin check email sbb uni akan email them for validation)

e) English proficiency evidence 

-IELTS

-GCE-O SPM

- a letter from Hal Ehwal Akademik universiti masing2. 

(Depa akan indicate that all your lessons and assesments sepanjang pengajian conducted in English)

f) Passport copy

Siap SEMUA, baru submit permohonan. Tunggu dapat surat tawaran bersyarat (conditional offer)... then persuade the admission to grant you the unconditional offer :) In my case, I am lucky dpt waiver for IELTS from Sheffield, Sussex, RHUL, Leeds, Cardiff... Huhu jimat duit RM660.

2) MOHON MARA

Lazimnya, MARA akan buka permohonan bulan Februari atau Mac. Syarat kelayakan:

a) Bidang bukan teknikal

- CGPA 3.5 ke atas

b) Bidang teknikal/ kursus profesional

- CGPA 3.0 ke atas

You are at advantage jika sudah ada pengalaman bekerja dan surat tawaran daripada universiti ulung dunia :)

Ketika mohon checklist saya:

- Bidang Bukan Teknikal: Media

- CGPA: 3.89

- Pengalaman bekerja: 6 tahun

- Surat Tawaran: dah ada from 5 universities :)

Semua memenuhi syarat. Alhamdulillah.

3) PANGGILAN TEMUDUGA & PSYCHOMETRIC TEST

i) Test

Buat julung kali pada tahun 2014, MARA buat ujian secara online boleh access dari rumah. Pening kepala juga. Soalan IQ, Maths, Keperibadian, Kenegaraan. Tempoh satu jam macam tak cukup untuk 100 soalan. 

Tips: sediakan 2 laptop, 2 handphone, unifi... Technology is cruel. Though you are extremely intelligent, kalau time tu la Internet/ PC bermasalah--- gasak.

ii) Interview

Dua minggu menanti dapat panggilan temuduga pula. Jauh di MARA Japan Institute Beranang. Haha saya mmg tak familiar jalan di Beranang and I know I am not an early waker. Nak drive Damansara-Beranang satu jam! Haha belum traffic jam lagi. Maka saya tidur di hotel murah a night before, 10mins drive je from beranang :) nampak tak kesungguhan? Haha temuduga 8.30pagi. 7.30pagi saya dah sampai. Temuduga dalam kumpulan, saya dalam kumpulan pertama yang ditemuduga. Orang nombor 4 dalam barisan hehe.

Temuduga dijalankan secara berkumpulan in a group of 10, semua calon lain2 bidang dan latarbelakang (Campur science/ arts, masters/ PhD)

1) Soalan Case Study:

Dia beri situasi, bahaskan.

2) Straw Challenge:

12 straw, 0.5 meter masking tape. Build a device, when u drop the ball from 2ft high, the ball wont bounce out of the device/product. Masa ni la saya champion, bab kreatif ni sciences background candidates dah tak boleh main hujah dah, now semuanya kreativiti haha... so my group succeed :) Group sebelah, sampai roboh produk dia.

3) Soalan Pandangan: What is integrity? Discuss.

Tips: Jadi diri sendiri. Bila keluar tu ada sorg ni skema, she told me, u mgkn kena tolak markah sbb langgar byk adab interview...during the interview, I sat on the floor, sat on the table at times, ketawa mengilai and even gave high-five to group members! Haha. Guess what, she was wrong... :) ini group interview, bukan one-on-one... Semua 3 stage tu sebenarnya nak tgk your attitude and semangat je :) Dengan menjadi diri sendiri, MARA ukur keikhlasan saya :)

4) KEPUTUSAN

Dua bulan tunggu keputusan. Hari dinanti  tiba, 23 Mei 2014. Jam 1petang, ada kawan beritahu MARA put up a link keputusan 5pm! Dari 5pm ke 7pm server congested, tak boleh masuk. So sementara menunggu, saya siap2 draft surat rayuan, just incase tak dapat. Bila dapat masuk je keluar tahniah. Mcm tak percaya. Log in, log out banyak kali. 

Benar-- saya berjaya. Syukur i don't need that surat rayuan :)

TOKYO - KYOTO - OSAKA - KOBE

I went for a one week tour to Japan (Again!)

But this time around it's not a vacation but assignment sponsored by OKI. 

It was a wonderful trip, such an unforgettable experience.

Nothing to shout about Tokyo simply because I've been there before.

But the southern part of Japan however, makes me happy a million times.

From Tokyo I had the chance to experience the bullet train! Arrived in Kyoto, and had a chance to visit some castles and temples.

From Kyoto, ride on a bus-- an hour journey to Osaka. Stayed at Sheraton Miyako. It's winter and Osaka is crazy freezing cold, -3c to 2c ... Ughhh 

The highlight of the trip--- definitely the Kobe Sanda Premium Outlet. It has the size of Beceister Village with more than 100 stores including Gucci, Prada, Ferragamo, YSL, Valentino, Jimmy Choo, Longchamp, Bally and a lot more!... The premium outlet is in fact the biggest in Asia. From my experience it is definitely bigger than Kildare in Ireland & La Vallee in France.

So ya, here are some of the memories captured :)

My daily consumption throughout the trip (if you are planning for a holiday, I would advise to bring some food from home because served food is pricey in Japan, one meal will cost you 3000- 6000 yen = RM70- RM300)

...and last but not least, the shopping heaven!

1) Which one is a better city?

2) Safety?

3) Halal food/groceries?

4) The locals?

5) Leisure? Activities?

6) Malaysians community?

DEWAN ORKID, SHAH ALAM

Hi ladies!

Yesterday i got to emcee a beautiful wedding ceremony... Client is Aishah-Azizi.

I reached the building at 7pm.

From the ground floor, i gotta go up to the 4th floor.

guess what..

Sebaik sahaja sampai tingkat 4, saya terkejut tgk deco bermula daripada depan lif membawa saya sehingga ke entrance!

Entrance dihiasi orchids which i believe my loyal blog readers know that I am an orchid lover!

Masuk sahaja dewan...MasyaAllah

Cantik sungguh deco!

Dengan lighting pink purple (which i love)

100% drape.. Seluruh dinding dewan!

Beautifully decorated aisle and gorgeous pelamin!

The whole deco looked so luxurious and Mahligai Creative crossed my mind.

Dalam hati "pandai bride ni, pilih normal hall tapi all out untuk deco!"

But i was totally wrong!

I texted the bride and got to know that the package costs her only 10k! Yes, the whole package!

Even the bride herself was surprised with the top notch deco services!

I told her.. For 10k, last time with Nas i only got the pelamin. Ye, plus lighting and sakura and draping only behind the pelamin, plus florist ..the cost was 20k. *pengsan*

but Aishah got the entire wedding deco at only 10k... Omg! Mmg sangat sangat cantik! Aishah mmg ada taste dan pandai pilih... 

The photos here don't do justice, trust me it's 100x prettier in real life! 100% fresh flowers!

So kawan2 jadilah pengantin seperti Aishah yang bijak memilih. Daripada ikut perasaan macam my mom and i sbb nak well-known designer. Skrg baru nak menyesal. Pfftt

Saya dan rakan-rakan biasa hadapi situasi aneh oleh golongan yang memandang seorang terhadap tugasan sebagai wartawan.

Tahukah anda, kala ini wartawan bukan lagi golongan yang berkelulusan SPM, sebaliknya mempunyai sekurang-kurangnya Ijazah Sarjana Muda? 

Tahukah anda wartawan boleh pengaruhi pentadbiran dan bentuk agenda. We make people believe what we want them to believe.

Tahukah anda, wartawan boleh membantu anda dalam masalah setempat mahupun masalah di peringkat nasional?

Tahulah anda, we don't need official letter most the time, with just a click, a single phone call, insyaAllah we will get information we want from any chairman, managing director, ceo, and even several ministers :)

Sepanjang bertugas sebagai wartawan i pride myself for being able to help people from all walks of life.

1) 90 sijil kelahiran untuk anak-anak jalanan:

Syukur. Hanya hubungi KP Jabatan pendaftaran dan pejabat menteri, masalah yang membelenggu komuniti itu selama 20tahun, selesai dalam tempoh 2 minggu :)

2) Pembatalan penutupan Pasar TTDI:

Penjaja ditindas golongan mewah yang baru bertapak di situ. Pada hari sama saya berjumpa penjaja, saya sms datuk bandar KL utk dapatkan penyelesaian. Syukur, pasar itu dapat terus beroperasi. Don't underestimate us, even tons of letters sent by residents n penjaja tak menjamun penyelesaian. sms from a journalist convinced dbkl.

3) Ibu 3 anak merempat di ibu kota:

Saya ketahui isu ini apabila ke PPR yang terletak di Bangsar, ibu bekerja di A&W PJ, dan terpaksa tinggalkan tiga orang anak tidur di surau selepas dihalau keluar oleh suami. Saya hubungi Menteri Wanita ketika itu, dalam tempoh 5 hari permohonan keluarga itu untuk mendapatkan rumah PPR diluluskan. Sedangkan 3 bulan memohon di pejabat berkaitan, tidak diendahkan.

4) Bekalan air di Jinjang Utara

Rumah panjang dihuni golongan berpendapatan rendah, tiada air selama 3 bulan. Saya pergi menjengah, dan menyiarkan laporan pada 26hb... 27hb saliran di situ sudah dibaiki dewan bandaraya, sedangkan sebelum ini, tiada tindakan.

5) ...dan lain2 masalah--mintak nak apply tekun, anak nak masuk mrsm, nak skim rumah pr1ma... kalau ada urgency wartawan sedia membantu untuk ketengahkan isu.

Jadi,

Dalam semua penyelesaian itu saya tidak dapat apa-apa kecuali kepuasan sebab dapt bantu orang yang memerlukan. Bukannya saya dpt sijil lahir extra,bukannya saya dpt tapak pasar malam, and tak dapat pun rumah sebiji dua. Semuanya kerana tugas, dan rasa tanggungjawab NAK TOLONG ORANG.

Ingat,

Jangan pandang rendah tugas wartawan. You might need us one day

POSTGRADUATE IN THE UK

Hi ladies,

I need your kind assistance and feedback. Terutamanya blog readers yang pernah / sedang belajar (undergrad/postgrad) di United Kingdom.

Scholarship application opens next month and applicant can only pick one institution for the application purpose. Ughhh beria i apply sampai 6 uni, sbb i thought kena letak 3 pilihan uni. Pfft

Lucky me, i received conditional offer from all 6 institutions:

1) Sheffield

2) Royal Holloway (in Surrey)

3) Leeds

4) Sussex

5) Cardiff

6) Birmingham

I know that it is too early to dream. But i live my life with WHAT IF(s)... I am a planner and always like to have Plan B, C, D and so on. 

I need your help to share with me some insights or little important things I might need to take into account:

*Taught Master's Degree*

1) out of the 6, which city is the best place to study for international students?

2) location wise? crime rate?

3) cost of living? rental? halal food?

4) which institution has the most headache? (i learned that postgrad should be a wonderful experience, but a friend of mine has to attend class EVERYDAY! Erkk)

5) if u were in my shoes, which uni would you choose? :)

1) book at least a month before your big day or earlier for famous date and musim perkahwinan.

2) pay a deposit of RM100 to block the date.

3) to pay the balance 7 days before event date (important)

4) to email ALL the necessary details 14 days before event date (important)

5) to trust me (note: very important). InsyaAllah saya akan buat yang terbaik.

We would appreciate:

1) If you can give your full cooperation to send  the details we need ASAP. Trust me, on the wedding day you will be busy to even answer phone calls.

2) Memandangkan saya juga seorang wedding planner, bridezilla and i do emcee job almost every week...kindly take into account and consider my little advise on the event flow.

3) As much as you don't want amateur emcee like your scripted friend or relatives to emcee your big day..pls pls pls do not serah the technicals to your friends too. kalut nanti video/lagu tak play  on time.

4) We don't provide PA/ audio system. Venue should provide.

5) Minta jasa baik kalau ada 'DJ' janganlah mengulas apabila majlis sudah bermula secara rasmi.
