ANUGERAH SKRIN 2013

Laporan Khas/Berita Terbaik
ANUGERAH SKRIN 2013

When others throw stones at you, let them... don't throw back at 'em.
Pick up the stones real quick and start building a wall, so they will stop throwing.

Don't seek for revenge, revenge itself will haunt them down.
Success is indeed the sweetest revenge. Let haters eat their hearts out! :)

MOTIVATIONAL TALK

Dah terjebak dalam bidang ni pulak.
but it was fun though.
seronok jumpa orang.
seronok juga jawab pelbagai soalan.
haritu dipanggil untuk beri talk di sebuah institusi swasta.
tajuknya mudah "Communication Skills".

Target audience adalah students.
dari situ saya ulas berkenaan:
- posture & gesture bila bercakap dengan orang
- voice & breathing
- etika bila menghadiri temuduga

Nampak macam senang?
training 4 jam... so all the way saya bercakap.
di selang-seli dengan video dan juga aktiviti berkumpulan.
seronok sangat-sangat sebab mereka pun seronok.

Baru-baru ni saya sendiri ada attend training by the former CNN news anchor.
Lorraine Hahn. Such a beautiful soul. She is very down-to-earth.
I loveeee the session so much, it's the best so far.
One day, I wish I can be a good speaker like her.
Dah ambil beberapa point untuk next talk! :)

Agensi, Syarikat, IPT yang panggil bagi talk kenalah sesuai dengan profesion saya:
Communications Skills, Presentation Skills, Self Confidence.

SHOULD YOU HIRE AN EMCEE? (EMCEE MAJLIS PERKAHWINAN)

Hello,

Why do you need a professional emcee for your wedding, bridezillas?
To ensure the event goes smoothly (it's your big day!)
An emcee helps move people between places (from pelamin to makan beradab to cake cutting, etc)
Most importantly, an emcee helps set the mood!

Why you should hire a professional emcee for your big day?
Emcee role is often not taken seriously. The biggest mistake we see is where a couple chooses a friend or family member to be the emcee even they have no expertise.
Hire an emcee with the skills. The best thing about professional emcee(s), we are there to do the job, not to practice our karaoke skills like many vendors you'll hire for your weddings. (if u get what i mean)

IT'S ALL THE LITTLE THINGS YOU DON'T SEE THAT MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN AMATEUR AND PROFESSIONAL EMCEE

Professional emcee study background of the bride & groom, learn more about both families and crack necessary joke in between or say inspiring words in a good commanding voice to set the mood.

Fee for a professional emcee?
Yang hebat buat masa ini pastilah Fedtri, rate dia mmg at least RM3k (kalau kawan baik dan saudara sahaja i think ada special price / probono).
Yes! He's all worth it! Begitu juga dengan personaliti TV lain yang hebat belaka.

Why so expensive?
Tak mahal sebenarnya. Anda membayar servis dan kepakaran. Sebagaimana anda membayar make-up artist RM1000 walaupun tau kos guna bedak dan make-up mungkin kurang RM50, atau membayar servis rekaan baju designer berharga RM5000 sedangkan kos kain mungkin kurang RM500. ni ibarat je, analogi :))

yours truly hired by these beautiful people!

*Maaf tak semua gambar pengantin ada di sini, because i don't have them in my saved documents*
*Clients, kindly E-mail me your photos, will upload them*
*Ada gambar dari photographers mereka. Thank you. Credit to them*

My rate (2013)?
RM600 (without rehearsal)
RM1000 (with same day rehearsals)
RM2000 (corporate functions)

Do you need rehearsals?
U don't  need any if your function has normal event flow.
(ie: masuk - sanding - renjis - makan beradab - video/slide show - speech - potong kek)
BUT... kalau majlis ada banyak gimmick / performance, u definitely need rehearsals.

Why must clients pay extra cost for rehearsals?
Time, energy, time, energy, time

What is the mode of payment?
Deposit (RM100) - only for weddings
Balance, 7 days before event date.

What if I have last minute assignments?
I am a journalist and presenter by profession, at times something came up at the very last minute.
I will replace with someone who is equally good.
If you do not want a replacement, I will refund your $.

What if clients wish to cancel the service?
Deposit is not refundable.

P/s: professional emcee(s) are just that, professional. not amateurs. so do not doubt. trust us, we'll deliver. pls don't ask for unnecessary video clips or anything related.

SOMALILAND, AFRICA

view from up above

the airport

sand, trees and the nomads. wonder if it rains?

man & the donkey, water supply for his family

berhimpit atas lori di bawah panas terik matahari just to get water from nearest town

jual ladies innerwear tepi jalan for a living

Malaysia delegates & The First Lady of Somaliland

Somaliland has no bank. Duit berlonggok tepi jalan for money exchange and other transaction.

2days to go! lama betul kat sini.
Anyhow, have u heard of Somaliland?
Somaliland is not Somalia... last time it was---however since 1991, it stands on its own.
as a country, seriously... there's a lot to do.
the country is very poor.
one city to another is far far away... almost building-less along the journey
70% of Somalilanders are jobless;- even the graduates.
the airport is a size of a terrace house (the terminal)
landasan pun hasil tinggalan penjajah...

surrounded by desert, it took 3 hours for us to reach the capital, Hargeisa.
3 hours journey, on our left n right--- small-dry trees, sand, nomads, that's all...
no building, what more tall buildings (the tallest building pun, 4storey itupon dekat bandar)
budak2 lari-lari dalam keadaan berpasir tu, even berjalan for hours to get from a city to another since not everyone owns a car. or else bersempit naik lori.
sedih.

and imagine, average family , income sehari---- USD1 (5500 somaliland shilling) = USD30 per month = around RM100 a month. kesian kan?
anyway, it's surprising that most of the ministers in Somaliland are overseas graduates.
But most of them migrated when they were kids.
a few however, came back to contribute.
had good chat with them. they're very very knowledgable.
I even had the chance for a one-on-one interview with Somaliland's First Lady.
anyway, back to kisah rakyat....
kadang2 tengok rakyat dia, sebak rasanya. nak nangis pun ada.
to us, the visitors, keadaan mmg menyayat hati but to them its normal.... seriously.
Somaliland is a 100% Muslim country.
They have faith in Allah Swt.
They really really do.
this is such a great experience for me tho.
and somewhat , i realize how lucky we are to have Malaysia as our country.
we should be thankful.
sekarang baru sedar diri, takmo bazir for my wedding... seriously.
